[Our Vision]
We are a community of brothers seeking a messy, organic Christianity that dissolves the boundaries of denomination and seeks unity. Our heart is to inspire the unified Christian band of brothers by establishing a house in which people can come and grow in their faith, test their convictions, work out their salvation, and sharpen one another in love. As the men of the Jesus House commit together to a daily rhythm of life, school, prayer, worship, and community they will learn to stand and fight as Brothers in Christ. The group is made up of several different Christian denominations, student classifications, and majors. We desire to see a band of brothers consumed by the will and purpose of God unified as the Bride of Christ. Our lives are not just school-focused, but Kingdom-focused. God is raising up warriors and leaders who will affect change on this campus and the world to which they are called. We are one body, with one purpose. We believe in the 3 Loves, which are Love God, Love each other, and Love the World. We believe that as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. As God is teaching us to be soldiers and servants, we will learn what it means to fight for one another and fight with each other. We will come together as a community and have biblical teachings, fellowship, breaking bread with one another, and have unity by the Love of Christ. We believe that our lives should be driven by a rhythm of God as we learn to live together in a rundown, derelict yet amazing house on the edge of Oklahoma State University. The way we live will define Jesus Christ to the rest of the Stillwater area. We are not a church but rather the body of Christ coming together under a common threshold. The Jesus House will exist as yet another ember, or flame fueling the fire of what God is doing in this generation and more specifically, the city of Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Our vision is Jesus. The Jesus House belongs to Jesus. It consists of men of faith who live to Love God, Love each other, and Love the world. We are a people consumed and awestruck by the fathering Love of God, united by the spirit of sonship. Though we are imperfect, together we are being perfected by the perfect God that we serve, for His strength is made perfect in our weakness. We believe in the baptism by the Holy Spirit. We do not pursue perfection; we pursue Jesus and His perfect Love, and we earnestly desire to grow in the gifts of the Spirit that will build up the Body of Christ. We are a community shaped by the truth of scripture. Jesus is the center of everything that we do. As He clearly commands us in His Word, we Love each other as He has loved us. We believe that sanctification is a process, and that the Love of Christ is what propels us through it. By the washing of feet, the laying on of hands, and serving one another in sincere humility, we fight to know the greatest act of Love, in laying our lives down for one another. As brothers united under Christ, we will grow in our knowledge of the Holy One. We fight for each other, and with each other to advance the Kingdom of God and to push back darkness. As children of light, we expose the fruitless deeds of darkness and agree in faith together for the fruition of God’s work in our lives. We come from completely different backgrounds, cultures, interests, beliefs, and personalities, but by the Love of Christ, we are made one with Him, and with each other. We each represent different parts of the Body of Christ with separate roles, but we all need each other, for God has arranged every part where He wants it to be. If one part suffers, then every part suffers. If one part is honored, then every part rejoices. God is the author of a story He has dreamt of since before creation, and we are humbly blessed to serve a purposeful role in it through the Jesus House in Stillwater. We are the servant men and the beloved sons of the Jesus House, united behind one vision: Jesus. We seek to unite the missing parts of the Body of Christ. As the hands and feet of Christ, we pray for His boldness and sincerity to reach out to the orphaned, the oppressed, and those who do not have the privilege of knowing there is a God who is violently in Love with them. Our battle is against the principalities of darkness, not against flesh. The battlefield we are on is big, but our God is bigger. In faith, hope, and Love, we arise confidently to fight the good fight. Love always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Because God Loves us, we will not shrink back. We cannot fail because God has already overcome the world through Jesus. So together, we will run the race set before us and seek the face of our savior Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the vision. Love is the movement.
